Compared with traditional energy storage technologies, mobile energy storage technologies have the merits of low cost and high energy conversion efficiency, can be flexibly located, and cover a large range from miniature to large systems and from high to high power density, although most of them still face challenges or technical bottlenecks.
We hope this review will be beneficial to the further development of such mobile energy storage technologies and boosting carbon neutrality. Batteries are electrochemical devices, which have the merits of high energy conversion efficiency (close to 100%). Compared with the ECs, batteries possess high capacity and high energy density.
