Please check the individual products for their kW rating.
If you are sizing your UPS load in Watts or kW (3000Watts), the UPS should be suitably rated. A 3kVA UPS may be rated at unity power factor (1PF) which means that the UPS can supply 3kVA/3kW of load. If the power factor is less (typically 0.9 or 0.8) then the Watt load should not exceed 2700W (2.7kW) or 2400W (2.4kW) etc.
If you select a 3kVA with a 5minute battery runtime and run this at half-load i.e. 1.5kVA, the UPS will provide double the amount of runtime. For longer runtimes than is available from the internal battery, battery extension packs can be connected to the uninterruptible power supply, where the UPS has a connection for these.
